Roasted Garlic / French Garlic Soup

Many of the recipes on The Weekend Grillers calls for Roasted Garlic such as Vidalia Onion Dip and Everyone’s New Favorite Comfort Food, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes .

Roasting Garlic is easy and it is absolutely delicious and I have, of course, included detailed instructions on each recipe.

Occasionally, however, I run accross someone who presents something so beautifully —

Well in this case I decided to share it.

This is a recipe for French Onion Soup (a very good recipe, by the way) but the first part is all about Roasting Garlic.

Enjoy

New Recipes and Pages Added ALL OVER

Pina Colada

Pina Colada Framed Art Print  Buy at AllPosters.com

We have new recipes for you on every one of our sites and sections today.

On the Weekend Drinks Site - Enjoy the Creamy Goodness of a Classic Pina Colada.  Nothing says “You are Definitely on Vacation“ quite like this Caribbean Rum beauty and perhaps no drink is more abused.  There are so many terrible recipes out there that most people have never had a really good Pina Colada.  Change that today.  Get the Weekend Drinks recipe and feel the Tropics.  Sorry for the “sales-speak”.  I get carried away when I talk about the Pina Colada.

On the Party Dips and Salsa Site we have added a recipe for the chiliheads out there, The Blisteringly Hot Habanero Salsa and the “complete” — and completely delicious — recipe, Romesco Dip with Roasted New Potatoes.  Both of these are a “bit off the beaten path” but should find plenty of fans at almost any party you take them to.

On Weekend Movies I have added the program for one of my all time favorite movies, The Blues Brothers.  I gotta tell you, I had a blast creating this one.  My family came into the room several times to check on my and to see why I was laughing so hard.  Even just thinking about it now makes me smile.

If you haven’t yet checked out Weekend Movies, you ought to head over.  What we have on the site are programs for some of your favorite movies that you can download and print.  Big deal, you say?  Well, do me a favor — just download one from a movie you enjoyed years ago, read it and see if you’re not hooked.  Better yet, host a movie night at your house and give out a program to each of your guests.  You will be AMAZED at how much people absolutely love these.  Don’t take my word for it.  All the downloads are free.  Try one today.

And finally, on the Mother-Ship, The Weekend Grillers, we have a heavenly Bourbon Pecan Pork Roast Recipe.  It may seem a little silly to include an Indoor BBQ Recipe on the site in the height of the Grilling Season — but I wanted to add to my Pork section and this was the best recipe I have come across lately.  Save it for this winter if you must — or get creative and figure out a way to do it on the grill.  If you do, please let us know and I will share it with all of the Weekend Grillers.

Have fun and see you soon,

Mark

Are You Too Old To Party?

PART TWO

Yesterday we talked about how the three new Party Sections of The Weekend Grillers came to be, how I hate to let anything go to waste and how some people like to compare their big toes.

Today we talk more about how Adults REALLY Party

If You Do It Right, Partying is Better When You Get Older

A few months back, one of my younger friends, Mandy,  told me that she was glad to see how my friends and I still liked to party and enjoy ourselves — because we were her parents’ age and they didn’t do anything!

After I recovered from this “compliment”, I told her that in my opinion, if you do it right, partying is BETTER when you get older.  My friends and I still do many of the same things we did as teenagers and 20 year olds, we just do them better.

When we were young a party food usually consisted of 20 bags of chips and a refrigerator full of cheap beer.   Now we have a table full of Smoked Salmon, Roasted Peppers (Atomic Buffalo Turds), Green Chili Wontons and more and, while the refrigerator is still full of beer, it’s now Sam Adams and Blue Moon.

We use to cram 80 people into a 2 room apartment with no A/C.  We now have kitchens bigger than that.

We very seldom have anyone drink too much and pass out on the bathroom floor – but if they do, we take care of them (we’re Mommies and Daddies after all) and the bathroom floor is clean.

We use to listen to really bad ’80’s Rock and…okay, no one is perfect.  We still listen to really bad ’80’s Rock.

Party!!!

I could go on and I’m sure you have some good stories and ideas, but the point is, The Weekend Grillers is designed for the way we REALLY Party today.  Always has been.  Not funny costumes and silly games.  Just Good Friends, Good Food, Good Drinks and Good Times.

So what better place to include Adult Party Ideas and Recipes – even if they don’t necessarily include the Grill?

Join us tomorrow for Part 3 of this Post.
