Welcome to Best Party Drinks

Cocktails first emerged as a way to dress-up inferior bootleg gin during prohibition, but quickly became a favorite of nightclub goers and partiers.

With the repeal of prohibition in 1933 and the return of good liquor, the cocktail reached it's golden age during the 1940's and 50's (picture the Rat Pack.)

However, the classic drink fell on hard times during the 60's, 70's and into the 80's. Prepackaged mixes and bottled juices let to most people thinking of the cocktail as an inferior drink.

The late 80's and early 90's saw a resurgence of the drink as serious bartenders went back to the roots and started making the drinks the way they were meant to be made -- with fresh ingredients and the best alcohol.
