When this cocktail was first invented in the late 19th century, it called for rye.

Yuck

Use a good Kentucky Bourbon and make the perfect Manhattan.

Bourbon ManhattanManhattan

Ingredients 
  • 4 ounces Bourbon (only made in Kentucky)
  • 1 ounce Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 ounce Dry Vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Directions 
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and all the ingredients.
  2. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds.
  3. Pour the mixture, with ice, into a Martini glass.
  4. Add a Maraschino Cherry to garnish if desired.
